Ever since a devastating accident left me a quadriplegic at the age of 52, the QuadLife has been one of the most significant pieces of equipment to help me gain some normalcy in my life. It’s not just a joystick; it’s a computer that connects me to multiple devices and simplifies challenging tasks. I cannot recommend the QuadLife enough to express my gratitude to Bill and his team for giving me access to the world again!

Rick Fuit (written with QuadJoy systems) – Ret. Deputy Director, US Inter Continental Ballistic Missile Triad.

My name Rick Fuit and I suffered an accident that left me an incomplete Quadriplegic.

I was introduced to the QuadJoy sip n’ puff system while recuperating at Craig Hospital, a Spinal Cord Injury specialty hospital. It was immediately indispensable. I was able to continue working remotely at my job, as Deputy Director, of the Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) which represents one-third of the United State’s nuclear triad. My job was to take care of all business, finance, and contracts of all civilian personnel actions in order to manage our responsibility of the overall Minuteman II enterprise.

I owe my ability to work and maintain an active, full life to the QuadJoy system.

“Some of Ricks’s last words were “now what do we do, I pray there is snow in heaven.” Our condolences to Ricks’s family and friends. It’s obvious that he loved life and we are honored that we were able to help.”

Remembering Richard Fuit

If you have ever browsed the QuadLIFE website, you have seen the name Richard (Rick) Fuit. Rick was one of our amazing customers, who unfortunately passed away.

He passed away peacefully and surrounded by family. Rick was known for his love of the outdoors, his career in the United States Airforce, and for helping to make outdoor sports accessible to people of all abilities.

Rick made the most out of his life all the time. He loved being around people and was nice to everyone he met. His family and friends joked about the fact that Rick couldn’t leave the house without seeing someone he knew and striking up a conversation. He was happiest when he was talking to people, and surrounded by others.

It is clear that Rick had a passion for the outdoors and down-hill skiing. After his accident, Rick was still able to enjoy skiing with the help of The University of Utah. We got to know the University of Utah through Rick and donated a QuadLIFE mouse to them so they could continue to help the physically disabled. This video shows Rick skiing downhill even after his incident.

QuadJoy allowed me to become a Graphic Designer

“QuadJoy helped me a lot, I use it almost daily. I’ve got employed as a graphic designer due to this device. It gave me the chance to have an active life and I am very grateful for this. If it changed my life in such a great manner, I know…”
