QuadLIFE sponsors Grabot!

BattleBots is a popular Discovery Channel show about combat robots. Competitors design the best robots they can to fight in a boxing style match and arena. The fighting is a combat elimination tournament, and in 2020 QuadLIFE had the opportunity to sponsor the bot, Grabot.

Grabot is operated by Team DaStroy, captained by Ben Davidson, of Sheboygan, WI. In the episode, Sin City Slasher, Grabot had its first match against SubZero. 

The competition was tough, and it was Grabot’s first time in the arena. The element that makes Grabot unique are its hands. Clamps on top of the bot that are designed to look like hands function to lift other robots, making them immobile. This feature is very complex and can be hard to control when the bots are in action. There is still a lot more to the design than what was shown on the show. The full design of Grabot can be seen at Grabot.tech. 

Unfortunately, Grabot did not emerge victorious this time. Team DaStroy will make modifications to the bot before its next time in the arena, so it can come back strong!
