Remembering Richard Fuit

If you have ever browsed the QuadLIFE website, you have seen the name Richard (Rick) Fuit. Rick was one of our amazing customers, who unfortunately passed away this past month.

He passed away peacefully and surrounded by family. Rick was known for his love of the outdoors, his career in the United States Airforce, and for helping to make outdoor sports accessible to people of all abilities.

Rick made the most out of his life all the time. He loved being around people and was nice to everyone he met. His family and friends joked about the fact that Rick couldn’t leave the house without seeing someone he knew and striking up a conversation. He was happiest when he was talking to people, and surrounded by others.

It is clear that Rick had a passion for the outdoors and down-hill skiing. After his accident, Rick was still able to enjoy skiing with the help of The University of Utah. We got to know the University of Utah through Rick and donated a QuadLIFE mouse to them so they could continue to help the physically disabled. This video shows Rick skiing downhill even after his incident.

Some of Ricks’s last words were “now what do we do, I pray there is snow in heaven.” Our condolences to Ricks’s family and friends. It’s obvious that he loved life and we are honored that we were able to help.
